Traditional Cave in Akrotiri It has a bedroom with double bed, a living room with single bed and dinning table, one kitchen with a big fridge, oven (all necessary cutlery and utensil), one bathroom with hot water (24h) and a small balcony with a great sea view . It is fully equipped with traditional furniture. when you get in the house you see the kitchen and on your right hand is the bathroom. infront of you there is the living room with a very nice metal sofa bed that you can sleep there if you wish and after this there is a bedroom with a big double bed. all the house has windows. you can go on foot (2min) to the historic castle to take wonderfull photos of the panoramic view of santorini. At the top of the castle there is a museum of music that they make concert every evening and they play traditional music.You can try to play with the musisian too. The cave house is at a nice area of Akotiri as you can see from the photos, that you can see all the village and the aegean sea from the top of the village. you can go on foot at the mini markets(you can buy meat, cheece bread etc) that there are in the square of the village and at many restaurants that you can taste traditional and homemade food. in the square there is a bus station that in 2min you will be at the excavation of akrotiri and at the red beach.near the red beach there are fish taverns in front of the sea that you can taste ouzo and raki with your fish or the kalamari. when your day is finished you can go back at the house and relax. there is no trafic infront of the house and it is in a very calm place. if you have car you can leave it infront of the house. The ancient settlement of Akrotiri was discovered in 1967 by the famous archaeologist Spyros Marinatos, who brought into light a whole city hidden under lava and ashes. The prehistoric Akrotiri flourished in 3000 BC, but it was later ruined by the 1500 BC volcano eruption. Today, many objects and important artifacts, are displayed at the Museum of Prehistoric Thera in Fira Town. A few minutes walk from Akrotiri, you will find the Red Beach, one of the most famous and extraordinary beaches in Santorini island.
